The Garment Room

I trust my friend Dez, implicitly when it comes to suggestions for new and upcoming places to check out. So when he told me we were going to visit his friends at the Garment Room, I wasn't surprised at how instantly I fell in love. Not just with the hand-selected vintage pieces, but with the owner, Tiffany, who receives every customer with the warmth and sincerity of what I would expect from a small business in the Midwest. However, when I was informed that she originally hailed from Chicago, it all made perfect sense. I left with a flirty, long-sleeved brocade dress, and a tan Alexander Wang S/S 0'10-ish leather jacket that is so lovely I've named her Cynthia. You can find the Garment Room at 112 Greene Street, lower level (between Spring and Prince Street).
Ashley Scott will be featuring her Drapes in an upcoming trunk show May 9th, so come out and rep!

Eyjafjallajokull

I know this eruption has been old news, but I had to post my favorite images that I found. It also caught my interest, as it has been one of the many countries my world-traveler sister has visited. I could picture it to be other worldly as this is the place that birthed our beloved Bijork.

Don't wanna talk about money, cuz i got it. Don't wanna talk about hoochies, cuz i been it.

Clever Little Bag

I always feel a twinge of guilt after I discard my shoeboxes. Every since the switch to digital pics, and graduating from Junior High, the shoeboxes containing love letters, gossip notes, and 4x6's of glossy memories have literally vanished. Oh wait, I take that back, I still have 3 boxes containing momentos in my now walk-in and very grown-up closet and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Kudos to Puma for taking responsibility for the amount of waste they produce and successfully finding a clever way to reduce it.

Spring!!!!!!

We seem to be doing quite well aside from the few characteristic days of un-welcomed snow following a 70=degree day. Here are a few pics of us embracing spring....

Red Pump Project

On March 25th, the Red Pump Project hosted a fashion show and cocktail reception to raise awareness for those living with HIV/AIDS . Some of the designers featured were Crystal B. Designs, Amber Johnson, and Spirit Africa. I was there to show support for my friend Melanie Lyke whose line, Rockett Mansion, made a flavorful appearance on the runway. Here are a few shots that I got. (the yellow dress made me go "Oh la la!")
